Our PCs run on Microsoft Windows 7 Professional

Equipped with Microsoft Office Professional 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access), our computers’ programs include Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox to browse the web, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, Adobe Air, Google Earth, Paint.Net, and Picasa 3. To log on to a PC, you will need your library card or a guest pass for your visit.

Internet Policy

Please be aware:

Parents or guardians, not the Library or its staff, are ultimately responsible for their children’s use of the Internet through the Library’s connection. The Hershey Public Library does not monitor, and has no control over, any materials obtained on the Internet, and cannot be held responsible for its content. Despite the presence of filtering software, it is recommended that parents supervise their children’s Internet sessions.

Do these computers save my documents?

Your documents will be deleted immediately when you log-off.  There is no way we can recover your documents after you log-off.

If you want to save any documents, please save them via USB/flash drive, CD, ZIP drive or other online service, such as Google Drive, SkyDrive, Zoho.com.  CDs-RW or DVDs- RW can be purchased at the Circulation desk or the Reference desk for $1.00.

Wireless Access Policy & Troubleshooting

Please read the following before using the Wireless Network:

The Hershey Public Library provides wireless access to the online catalog and the Internet for library patrons and visitors. Access to the network is free of charge. There is no log in required to connect with the internet using a wireless device. In your network settings, please connect with: HersheyPublicLibrary .

Wireless users must abide by the Hershey Public Library’s Internet Use policy.
