Each year The Association for Library to Children awards the John Newbery Medal to “to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.”  John Newbery was a British publisher, especially of children’s books. Like the Caldecott Award, only one book is chosen to receive the Newbery medal but additional notable books are named Newbery Honor books.  Click here for the list of winners!
